The tree is lit and so am I, thanks to some Grinch-A-Ritas. This festive margarita is Nate’s invention. What can I say? I married well. He knows just how to take the edge off the stressful holiday season. All I have to do is follow these simple instructions for my own silent night:

1)  Pour 4 parts tequila, 2 parts blue curacao, and 3 parts lime juice into a cocktail shaker filled with crushed ice, and shake well.

2)  Roll the rim of a glass or two in lime juice and Kosher salt (optional).

3)  Strain the tequila/curacao/lime juice mixture into a glass or two.

4)  Tint each glass with a drop or two of yellow food coloring.

After making a batch of Grinch-A-Ritas, I dim the lights, sip slowly, and imagine all of Whoville, gathered on my lawn, singing “Fahoo Fores, Dahoo Dores”as the lights on the tree twinkle off, on, off, on, off . . .
